The cylinder has a bore of 63 mm with a displacement of 178 cm3 and completely revised internal fluid dynamics.

The new overflow technology enables a correct clutch with both adapted and completely original housings and provides a special profile machining to optimise the flow and provides significant line increases, even without carrying out additional machining on the vehicle.

The inlet overflow ducts are profiled to properly align the flow in the inlet and maintain high turbulence, ensuring improved combustion efficiency and optimised scavenging. These improvements increase combustion performance, reduce fresh charge losses at the outlet and keep the temperature in the combustion chamber within the permissible values, including at the piston crown.

The rear overflow ducts have undergone a thorough investigation that has led to the definition of an innovative profile with double inclination (1-2) has led to the definition of an innovative double-slope profile that utilises the well-known coandagrave effect and thus has a higher flow rate compared to the traditional rear overflow channels, but differentiating the orientation of the flow of the single light in the entrance of the combustion chamber: In this way, the short circuits of the fresh charge on the injected mixture could be obtained.

The exhaust has also been extensively reworked and features a new and wider ignition adjustment and a redesigned profile to ensure proper gas flow at the outlet and towards the exhaust.

TWO-RING PISTON Ø 63

The two-ring piston Ø 63 has been calculated and optimised thanks to numerous hours of testing. The piston has a specially developed profile to withstand the high operating temperatures in the chamber, especially under stressful conditions. By allowing the piston rod to assume the correct cylindrical shape after reaching operating temperature, a more uniform sliding surface of the cast cylinder is achieved.

Thanks to this new profile, the coupling clearance between cylinder and piston has been reduced to ensure better guidance in the alternating movement in the liner and to reduce rotation around the pivot pin axis, reducing the risk of seizure, a very common phenomenon that frequently occurs in high-performance cast iron cylinders. Even the metallic ringing noise that is typically heard in this vehicle category when idling has been significantly reduced.

The double ring ensures proper sliding of the piston and at the same time permanent tightness against the pressures that develop in the chamber.

HEAD

The head has undergone an extensive overhaul, starting with the cooling fins, now more curved and sinuous, able to expose more surface area to the air and maximise cooling.

The head has undergone an extensive overhaul, starting with the cooling fins, now more curved and sinuous, able to expose more surface area to the air and maximise cooling.

The ribs of the head are also inserted in the space between the head and the cylinder to create a significant airflow capable of ultimately reducing the operating temperature. The result is pleasing to the eye due to its unique and original shape, thanks to the precise positioning of the ribs.

Its design is interrupted, only if necessary, by fixing holes for the studs.

The structure of the head has been thoroughly redesigned by increasing the mass to achieve unbeatable strength, combining lightness with the longest possible length of the cooling fins and utilising all the space provided by the conveyor system. The inside of the head is hemispherical and is machined by numerically controlled machines.

The positioning of the centre plug is significantly inclined and yet remains central. The set includes two centring bushes to ensure perfect coupling between the head and cylinder, which are separated exclusively by an O-ring. This solution, taken directly from the world of racing, guarantees maximum adhesion and the greatest possible heat exchange by eliminating any type of gasket and thus removing any blockage between the head and cylinder.
